We Exist To Awaken The Leader Within
Hope For The Slum Floating School is a free school for orphans and less privileged children living in the floating slum of Makoko in Lagos, Nigeria. It is a slum that sits on water, where the houses are built with wood and the only means of transportation is by canoe. The school and NGO were founded in 2021 by Deborah Adeola Adepoju. It was observed that the kids were not going to school. Community outreach was done by rowing canoes from house to house to encourage enrollment in the free school.
